Monday January 19th. Skied Up the Big Hill With the below zero temperatures abated and the snow conditions near ideal, I took off from the bike path to ski up and see the new Cathederal Pines Loop. WOW, the big hill nearly finished me off but the reward was fantastic. The new loop is gorgeous. Every cross country trail is beautiful but MSTF with the lake the views and now the majestic forest is something special. Thanks Bob P and all those who helped for the new edition. Wednesday Dec. 17th 2008
it did rain on Monday and Tuesday but we got the expected snow on Wednesday. Went to see the trails after school after the 5" snowfall... hey things are looking up-click here to check out a couple of pics I took at the Lindsay Beach Road Crossing-Hugh
Sunday Dec. 14th 2008 Skied the length of the bike path and the conditions were good. From the hospital end to Primeau's woods was alittle sketchy from all the foot traffic but the rest of the path was in very good shape. Thanks to the groomers. Rain probably will spoil the skiing in the early part of the week but the forecast for the rest of the week includes snow on Wednesday (Dec 17th). Can't wait to get out again --Hugh
WORK PARTY SAT. NOV 22nd 10:00 am-12:00 noon
Our major trail renovation this fall involved taming the hill across the street from the Primeau's, and a new beautiful 2 k loop in the Cathedral pines between the HS land and Ridge hill Drive.
We desperately need to corduroy some newly excavated trail across the street from the primeau's and I would like to get a large crew for a few hours this weekend. saturday morning is probably best but I could be talked into the afternoon instead. This means ferrying cut cedar logs from the hillside up to the trail and laying them every 6" to control ruts and erosion. We have about 200 yards to do. This is the kind of thing that can go pretty fast if we can get about 8 or more people. Tentatively 10-12 AM, meet at our house? Bob P
